SWISS DOT is Erica Sood (vocals,
synthesizer, drum machine), Clara Ellertson (guitar),
and Jenna Alden (vocals, synthesizer). With their balance
of synthetic beats and charming sincerity, the group
evokes the catchy rhythms of '80s legends New Order
and The Wake, the pop melodies of Saint Etienne, and
the contemporary edge of Ladytron. SWISS DOT's sound
has been described as "upbeat tragic" because
their songs are dance hits with emotional depth - tales
of heartache and regret set to a thumping bass and haunting
melodies.
Timeout New York raved, "Swiss
Dot is responsible for sending in one of our fave recent
CDs. The group's synth-driven sound will surely get
it lumped in with all the hapless electro and new-wave
revivalist acts in town, but this is just sweet, bouncy
pop music, plain and simple."
Clad in miniskirts and clip-on
school boys' ties, SWISS DOT has appeared at Manhattan
and Brooklyn venues including Brownies, Luxx, the Continental,
CBGB's, and the Knitting Factory.
Swiss Dot is currently on an indefinite
hiatus.

Boston Phoenix: "Swiss
Dot, a trio affiliated with the Somnambulants' Clairaudience
Collective label, make dreamy, picture-perfect electronic
indie pop, like Heavenly for robots."
Joshua Gabriel, Art Rocker:
"Swiss Dot is a superb group whose brimming portrayal
of musical personality and affection help them stand
apart from those mired in the doldrums of our everyday
world."
Time Out NY: "Don't
miss local trio Swiss Dot, a cool little band that stands
apart from this bunch because it doesn't really play
electro - these women have their own take on electronic
pop, and they actually sing (pretty well, too) rather
than mimicking robots."
