ABOUT US:
Clairaudience means, literally,"clear
hearing." It is a term coined by composer and noise pollution
expert R. Murray Schafer but has been adopted by the members
of the Clairaudience Collective to signify our dedication
to communication and to the aural arts.
Clairaudience was formed in Brooklyn,
NYC, in 2000 but now is headquartered in Los Angeles. We
are a group of musicians and artists who have banded together
to share resources, talents, and support. We all share common
goals and are pursuing similar dreams. The best way for us
to succeed is to combine energies into the Clairaudience Collective.
Our belief: The more we help each other, the more we help
ourselves.
Clairaudience strives to accomplish
our goals on our own terms: Putting together performances
of Clairaudience bands, holding events that include
a more enhanced experience for the audience including art
installations and multi-media interactivity, and most of all,
to help the bands in the collective record, release, and promote
themselves. Unlike a typical record label, the bands release
are self-reliant and independent.
